We recently moved to the Monterey Peninsula and have had a difficult time finding a terrific Chinese restaurant. Well the search is over. Ho-Wah in Marina is a stand out. We were there over the weekend and the food is beautiful. Fresh, made to order absolutely delicious. We tried several appetizers and entrees and it was not possible to choose a favorite. The service was professional and warm and very interested in our enjoyment. Highly recommend if you are looking for a favorite!
Food was great and the service was excellent. Portions were good. Loved the Salt and pepper chicken wings. 10 out of 10. Restaurant ambience nice. I am for sure going back.
We ordered take out for Christmas day since they were open and it was super packed! Even with that we went to pickup when they said our food would be ready 1 hr and it was! The food was freshly made and it smelled amazing when we walked into the restaurant! The staff was working hard and quick! This was our first time here and the food was delicious! More pricey than what we are use to as we were visiting out of state but is better than the other chinese spots we had around there! It was warm inside and had a great seating area too. Even with how busy it was theh staff was so kind and I hope the customers were too! We ordered plenty too! The salt and pepper squid, house chow mein, orange chicken, mngolian beef, beef and broccoli, honey walnut shrimp, crab ragoons and more. All delicious and fresh

Our first time visit and we were very impressed with the cuisine and friendly service. Staff were customer focused, offered dining suggestions and checked in on us often to ensure we were enjoying our meal. I ordered the Szechuan delight (mixed seafood) and wife ordered Szechuan noodles combo and had salt-n-pepper chicken as appetizers. Everything was delicious and portions were so large we had to get a to-go box for later.
This place is worth 3.5 stars for their food and 5 stars for their service. We ordered House Special Chow Fun and House Special Pan Fried Noodles HK style. There was an issue with the Chow Fun, but the lady was super nice to take it back without any additional question, and re-made another one for us. This gesture is worth 5 star plus for service. Food was just ok, cannot be compared to most Chinese restaurants in big cities. Portion was big and there was generous amount of meats and shrimps in both dishes. A big bummer is that they didn't have crisp chili oil like most Chinese restaurants. They take card but do prefer cash. Store looks clean with nice decoration.
They are me and my partners "go to" Chinese place. We have our regular order which is always overflowing with food. Definitely good for leftovers the next day. And the food quality is excellent. It's usually chill not loud atmosphere. Love the food. Love the service. Love the staff. It's all 5/5. Please note they have updated the pricing. The cashier was super nice about it and explained the change in price before he rang my card.
